Poem: God's Will

Poem: God's Will

God’s Will

All the Mormon boys
want to say eat it
when they are blessing
the sacrament bread,
but the book says eat
and omits the it
”That they may eat in
remembrance of the
body of thy Son…”

O, young priest, don’t give
into temptation
and say eat it in
the sacrament prayer,
for if you do, then
the whole thing won’t work
and we’ll have to start
all over again.

When Jesus comes back
I fully expect
for him to have a
tally of all the
eat its misspoken
in his holy name.
