Poem: The Moment
The Moment
When you step back
and look at the big picture
you will see that
nothing can last forever.
What you have here,
whatever you’re clinging to,
can disappear
no matter what you may do.
Her smile or laugh,
the way she stutters through yawns—
these things can pass
because they do not belong
to you or me.
They’re eternal elements,
collectively
part of grand benevolence.
