Father & Son (Thoughts on Estrangement, Reconciliation & Blood Atonement)

Dear God, are you there?
And am I really
one of your children?
Why haven’t we met
and do you love me?

O, my little child,
I love you so much
that I sacrificed
my beloved son
to make you happy.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, I was
thinking we could just
play catch or get a
burger or something
that was more like that.

Wait, wait, wait, I thought
you really enjoyed
blood sacrifices.
Isn’t that what kids
are doing these days?

Ugh! No one has done
blood sacrifices
for like more than a
hundred years; I guess
parents don’t get kids.
